The two week stretch…

That’s right, in exactly 14 days I will be on my way to China. I’m getting really excited and equally as nervous as each day passes by. And by nervous, I mean scared as a baby koala staring at a 5 year old kid swingin’ a sock filled with rocks. I still have a good bit to do at home before I’m ready to go and it seems like time is no longer on my side…oh well, I never liked that song anyway.

I’ll be flying away from my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. I’ll hopefully arrive in Shanghai on the 30th where I’ll be experiencing a wonderful combination of jet lag, confusion, bad hygiene, and being lost. I’ll then start the journey of looking for some type of transport to Suzhou (there’s supposed to be some guy holding a sign with my name on it at the airport)…We’ll see how that goes. Once I make it to Suzhou I’ll have to find “Happy Hotel” which at least sounds like a nice place. I just hope the name isn’t covering for something, such as unhappiness, or a rapist. I’ll be finishing up my training for TEFL Certification through the Boland school located somewhere in the city. For those of you who aren’t familiar with TEFL its “Teaching English as a Foreign Language.” I figure teaching is the easiest way to get a job without having to sell my body. English teachers/male prostitutes are still needed in nearly all of the medium to larger cities. After training I’m currently thinking about sticking with Boland and teaching at one of their schools in Suzhou because of the convenience factor. However I’m not sure how I feel about Suzhou’s climate for a long term stay. Actually I do know how I feel…I think it sucks. It may be worth it though, I haven’t really decided yet. Its not like I’m leaving in two weeks or anything…oh wait…
